May the Force Be With You isn’t the traditional way of congratulating a pair of newly weds but it was perfect for Malvern couple Adam Millis and Zoe Holland.
The bride and groom enjoyed a Star Wars-themed wedding, not a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, but last weekend in Malvern Register Office.
Jedi-Robe.com - The Star Wars Shop provided a number of costumes for this special day. Zoe wore white as Princess Leia and Adam was dressed as rebel hero Han Solo. They tied the knot accompanied by their best man Tim Reid aka Luke Skywalker and their parents and friends, all in costume as well-known Star Wars characters.
“They didn’t want a conventional white wedding. They wanted to do something different,” said Mr Reid.
“They’re both big Star Wars fans and they thought it would be good fun to have a Star Wars wedding.”
Everyone got into the spirit of the occasion and even the couples’ parents were happy to dress up. The bride’s parents were Obi Wan Kenobi and the Emperor and the groom’s parents were Anakin Skywalker and a Jedi fighter.
The wedding guests included a vast array of popular characters from the hit films. There was the hairy Wookie Chewbacca, the cool assassin Boba Fett and some white-uniformed Storm Troopers. The Jedi weapon of choice, the light sabre, was the must-have accessory.
The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at the Cotford Hotel in Malvern.
