A Mini Guide for your Star Wars Themed Wedding

Step 1
Give your theme some thought. You can go general Star Wars or create a "Star Wars universe" from a specific movie. Think Naboo from Episode I or the Endor Forest in Episode VI. The desert planet of Tattooine may not seem very romantic, but to each his own. A specific Star Wars locale dictates which characters to emulate. Jointly agree on how far to carry the Star Wars theme. Some use it for just the reception; others make it all Star Wars all the time.
Step 2
Create invitations that show your theme. You might refer to the groom as a Jedi knight and the bride as a Princess. Encourage guests to wear costumes.
Step 3
Dress the part. For once, the men have a great selection. A groom may elect to dress as a Jedi master or ceremonial attire like that of the end of the first movie (Episode IV). Dress groomsmen as Jedi Knights or Stormtroopers. Brides may dress like Princess Leia or Queen Amidala (Padmé). Or use a more traditional gown, and top it with a Star Wars hairstyle or headpiece.
Step 4
Look to your theme for decorating ideas, whether you're recreating the Naboo royal city courtyard or something else. You can also create a general "spacey" look with plenty or iridescent globes. And wouldn't you like to walk through an arch of light sabers? Label reception tables with names of Star Wars characters or locations, and top tables with centerpieces decorated with Star Wars paraphernalia (action figures, spaceships, etc.).
Step 5
Arrange Star Wars music to accompany you on the wedding journey. Luckily, John Williams composed wonderful music for the movies. Have the bride enter to the main theme song. Proceed for the recessional with the ending credit music. And guests can dance to the Cantina Band song at the reception.
Step 6
Top your wedding cake with Star Wars figures or stay traditional and just introduce a Darth Vader chocolate groom's cake. If you use a menu, have fun naming foods after characters. Chewbacca Chicken makes a memorable main course.
