Organised by internationally recognised costuming club Emerald Garrison, 2009's Invasion in Belfast attracted 14,000 visitors over two days. Now with a bigger venue, a third day open to the public and a massively increased media presence, Invasion Dublin is guaranteed to be an even bigger success.

Emerald Garrison will blow people's minds when they unveil for the first time ever, a life-size recreation of the Y-wing fighter and a series of fan-built sets and props any afficionado would love to have their picture taken beside.
The Invasion brand is so respected that five actors from the original Star Wars trilogy, including David Prowse (the original Darth Vader) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) have committed to attend.
Visitors will have the opportunity to 'meet and greet' with the actors and get up close with costumed characters as they re-enact classic scenes from the movies.
As with all sci-fi events there will be a roaring trade in memorabilia. Traders in toys, comics, books, DVDs, artwork, costumes and other ephemera will be on hand to ensure no one need leave empty-handed.
Y-wing fighter
This extraordinary exhibition includes the unveiling of a ground-breaking life size model of the Y-wing fighter. A tactical strike spacecraft, Y-wings made up a significant part of the Rebel Alliance fleet tasked with destroying the Death Star at the 'Battle of Yavin' in Episode IV: A New Hope. Y-wings also saw combat at the Battle of Endor in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
Speeder bikeInvasion Dublin is also proud to include a model of the speeder bike from Return of the Jedi. Famous for a high speed chase sequence through the forest moon of Endor, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia hijacked a pair of speeder bikes to evade scout troopers tasked with guarding the shield generator protecting the second Death Star.
